Comfort My Way

Outfits like this are my best friend.

So these days I'm constantly at rehearsals and so i'm living in jogging clothes...
By jogging clothes I mean T-shirts, sports bras, nylon shorts and running shoes.
As crazy as it sounds, I'm not very comfortable in them.
I'm comfortable in the sense that I can dance and move in them, But I'm not comfortable in the, "I feel great in what I'm wearing!", sense.
Some people might hear me say this and say I must not be confident without cute clothes. To them I say, maybe, there is a part of me that enjoys complements, (who doesn't?) But I think the real culprit is boredom. I'm not saying I get bored of seeing people in jogging clothes, I just get bored of being in them myself!!! I wish I did, if I liked them more I might exercise more!
So basically all that I just said is my way of introducing  the things that I consider comfortable.
Shirt-Thrifted
Leggings-GAP
Boots-Justin's From when I took riding lessons (Great pair Here)
Brown leather bracelets-Mia Luna
Shell bracelet-I don't remember

Lee, Bruce Lee

Anyone who knows me personally has most likely seen me in this shirt at least once.
I bought it in the men's sale section at Urban Outfitters (always check the men's section too) and it has served me VERY well!
The jacket is vintage from a local thrift store and the shoes are Sam Edelman.
I did wear Forever21 darkwash skinnies with this but I didn't include them in the photo.

So, funny story time!!! I wore this last night to my family's dinner at this oyster bar I've never been to. I was so overdressed that my sister asked if I didn't get the casual memo. I wasn't embarrassed in the least but I wish I would have worn a more comfortable pair of shoes!
*Note to self* Pay attention to the dress code!

Needle Point

Being the huge fan of vintage that I am, I instantly fell in love with this black needle point sweater my sister found at a thrift store!!!
Unfortunately I only got to wear this to make a bracelet delivery! I had to change into grungy clothes for the daunting task of gutting my grandmother's bathroom. Thankfully all I had to do was sort through an old and dusty storage building. My allergies are plaguing me this morning because it was so dusty! I scored some great vintage clothes though!

The clothes from this look are listed below!
Jeans are Levi's.
Shoes are Cole Haan you can find a great Michael Kors pair here
White blouse from New York and Co.
Hat, San Diego Hat Co. (It makes me think of Carmen San Diego too!)
Sweater, Purse, Cuff and Necklace are all vintage.
Have a great day Loves!!!

More Instagram

Another post about instagram just because I can.
(Explanation) I basically try to showcase my favorite accessories and fashion statements there. I'm obviously a big fan of statement necklaces and arm parties. For anyone who doesn't know, I design my own jewelry! Everything is Piper approved, I don't just wear it as advertisement! ;) So if you are interested in any of the dream catcher bracelets check out Mia Luna here send me a message if you want one that you've seen on instagram. My instagram username is Piperbydesign.

Trinkets

Some of my trinkets on display.
I recently received these beautiful white feathers from my mom and I wasn't sure how I wanted to incorporate them. I'm not sure if this is what they were designed for but I think it's a perfect fit! The dream catcher bracelets are Mia Luna while the shell anklet was my sister Mia's. The wooden Blue duck is from my Grandparents wedding( It's a Korean thing). The rest are just trinkets I've collected from gifts, my travels and treasures that came from where I least expected to find them.

Charcoal

This is an example of how I wore these patterned pants. It was a rainy day and I guess I felt like matching the charcoal scenery. That's just how my style is, ever changing like the weather. I wore two necklaces one old one new. This entire outfit cost less than $75.00 and the shoes are from the little boys section at Old Navy!!!

Medicine Man

This is pretty much just a post to show you my new choker for Mia Luna(and the inside of my nose apparently)! It makes me think of a medicine man, hence the title. Leave a comment if you would like to see this choker on my etsy site!!! The hat i'm wearing was a gift from my sister Megan this past Christmas! The cardigan is a men's XL that came from a thrift store.
                                                                                              xoxo,

PS Here's a cool trick my aunt taught me!!! If you have crazy, curly, frizzy hair like me put a little bit of styling gel in and just twist it in one direction like you see in the picture. Once it dries you can separate the curls and the frizz should be contained!

The little things

I keep discovering new things through the lens and closeups are now one of them! Am I a professional yet? Not by any means but I am learning and so this year one of my goals is to take pictures of what inspires me! Even if it is just the little things. Oh and to blog more!!! ;)
                                                                                             xoxo,
                                                                                                     Piper
