Tree Folk

My brothers are so handsome and kind for letting me use them as models and photographers!
This one is Chase and he was so sweet to let me style him for this shoot!
There are a couple of things I would have done differently but I used everything that he and I already had so we MADE IT WORK!!!
Something I think is a very useful skill to have!
I think his outfit turned out pretty well if I do say so myself! ;)

Chase helping me onto the tree, which is not a big branch but the trunk of the tree that bent sideways and continued to grow like that random I know but cool just the same!
Here in Florida we have a little bit longer to go before the actual Fall temperatures are here but we can dress for it anyways, right?

Candids are the best! Although he almost knocked me off of the tree when he put his arm on my shoulder... He also thought it was hilarious... I did not.

This is another dress c/o https://www.marineblustyle.com
You can click the link to see their entire online selection!
I wore this outfit to church (Minus the hat) and I liked it so much I decided it needed to be documented!
Mom said Chase and I looked like we were headed to Coachella, I wouldn't mind that at all! ;)
The belt is a Brighton and the necklaces are from all over!
The black one is vintage and the rest are a part of my ever growing collection of pretty things!
This hat is my new FAVORITE and it is from http://www.westernerinc.com I bought it from their physical location but I believe you can also order from them online!
They have a huge selection of Hats, Boots and really so many things you should probably go check them out yourself! ;)
They are family owned and operated and are so sweet!
You will be happy you bought from a small business!!!

Mom took over the camera because Colton couldn't take the mosquitoes any more!
If you look on the inside of my left leg you can see one of my battle scars! >_<
Chase is killing it and he doesn't even try!
I'm so blessed to have such a wonderful family that supports me in all of my endeavors!
Who endures getting attacked by mosquitoes and wearing thick sweaters even though its a tad warm out!
I Couldn't have done it without you guys!

Raised By Wolves

 Like a rhinestone cowgirl.
This black skirt is fun with lace and fringe all over it making me think of a 20's flapper.
And of course the shirt that I recently made!
I saw this on a baby's shirt and decided I wanted one for a big kid! ;)
I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out but I was pretty nervous about getting all of the letters straight!!!
This is in no way intended as an insult to my parents, just so everyone knows, I'm sure it's obvious but you never know what some people are thinking!

The lip color I'm wearing is QUEEN a  Lip Tar by OCC.

I hope you are all enjoying this transition into fall like I am!!!

A Little Bit Of Everything

Sunday naps with this little one, look at those toes!!!
Rays of sunshine in back pastures on cloudy days.
 Tangled trees near the creek.
 A rainbow in the clouds.
Another nap with his other uncle on a different Sunday.
(Colton and Chase are twins for those who don't know)
Practicing archery off of the front porch.
Pretending to be Robin Hood without the quiver.
Alabama sunsets.
Vintage blue velvet dresses...
These are a few of my favorite things lately!

Trench

While I don't live anywhere near London town I am still inspired by the staple outerwear of choice.
The trench coat!
This is how I styled it and the pictures below are some of my other inspirations!!!
Oh how I adore these actors!!!
Three of my favorite classic movies!
 Breakfast at Tiffany's
Singing in the Rain
Casablanca
Audrey, Gene and Humphrey have all influenced my sense of fashion as well as my old soul.
While I often think I was born in the wrong era I also think I was born at just the right time to appreciate all of the moments of the past and present.
Now do me a favor and go listen to As Time Goes By, if you haven't heard it you simply must and if you have it's worth listening to again!

White out

 Look at my dress!
I just got it and I love it!
 It was only $10.00!!!!!!!
That is the face of a crazy person... and diesel looks startled! lol
Can a picture be anymore candid?
Forget about that no white after labor day "rule" wear whatever you want and what makes you happy!
Fashion is about expressing yourself through your clothing!
I've had people tell me that I wear some pretty weird outfits but it's okay because I am weird!
I'm a nerd and an individual and I'm okay with that!
Some of the more sad times of my life were when I was either comparing myself to other people or trying to be what I thought was normal to get people to like me.
If you're caught in this trap GET OUT NOW, there is no happy ending where this path leads.
Learn to love your quirks and only surround yourself with others who accept them as a part of you.
It makes a world of difference when you become satisfied with the person that you are.
That doesn't mean we should stop trying to improve ourselves in all of the right ways though!

Instead of the no white after labor day rule I'm going to share some of the things I'm working on not just this season but always, of course I took them from one of my favorites talks of all time, some of you may even recognize it!
Be Grateful
Be Smart
Be Clean
Be True
Be Humble
Be Prayerful
-Gordon B Hinckley

When we are grateful for all of the things we do have we don't have time to be envious of the things that we don't have.
When we are smart we are slow to anger because we use our mind to understand before we let our emotions get the better of us.
When we are clean our thoughts and actions should be also that includes talking bad about people whether bullying them to their face or behind their backs.
In both cases I consider it a lack of self confidence or too much time on your hands.
Be true to yourself and honest in everything you do.
Be humble remember that everyone can be wrong at times and sometimes we have to stop and ask for directions on this road called life.
Always, always remember to pray not just for yourself but for others and thank your Father in Heaven  as often as you can!

I hope everyone who reads this knows I'm not trying to force any of my beliefs or standards on you.
I am so grateful to all of you who take the time to read this blog, I know it can be random, sometimes I sit down to write a little something about an outfit and I can't help where my thoughts eventually take me.
I'm still figuring things out as I go.

If you are interested in reading the entire talk I was referring to click the link Here.

I hope everyone is having a great day and maybe next time I post it won't be a book! ;)

We had fun goofing off in the middle of the road in the middle of the night!
Don't try this at home kids!
